Summary, etc. Being hospitalised for a year during adolescence to lose weight means simultaneously living through a morpho-psychological change and a separation with one’s primary attachment group; as a result, such phenomena also disturb family homeostasis. Taking the clinical case of an obese adolescent, the article stresses the repercussions of such psychosomatic changes within the dynamics of intersubjective family bonds. It shows in particular how a subject, imprisoned within a denegative pact, falls into a paradoxical narcissistic position. What is more, this position as experienced by the adolescent has the function of jointly maintaining, through their obesity symptom, the family isomorphic structure while also attempting to live out the process of differentiation triggered with the phenomenon of puberty and bodily metamorphosis.
