| Summary, etc. | RésuméCet article propose une lecture globale du risque sur les Jeux Vidéo Massivement Multi-Joueurs. Il apporte également une vision pragmatique sur l’analyse pouvant être faite concernant la nature du risque sur ce secteur d’activités peu exploré par les Sciences de gestion. Ainsi, nous exposons deux catégories d’éléments. Premièrement, des éléments de nature technologique (conception, création, stabilisation des univers) et économique (relations entre les acteurs, phénomène de rareté liée aux avatars). Deuxièmement, des éléments ancrés dans une forme de business parallèle, faisant jouer la valeur marchande du virtuel entre règles et parasitages (logiciels de triche, serveurs illégaux, piratage des systèmes). | Summary, etc. | The concept of risk on virtual worlds: an approach based on massively multiplayer online gamesThe purpose of this paper is to give an overview of the risks on the virtual worlds and especially the gaming environment of massively multi-players online games. It gives a pragmatic viewpoint on the analysis of the nature of the risk in this business sector, which is not yet explored. Two main elements are presented: Firstly, some elements regarding technology (conception, creation and stabilization of virtual worlds) and economy (relations between the actors, the phenomena of rarity linked to the avatars). Secondly, elements anchored in the shape of a parallel business, where the market value of the virtual between rules and interferences (cheating software, illegal servers, hacking of the systems) plays.
