| Summary, etc. | À l’instar du label « capitale européenne de la culture », de nombreuses villes européennes cherchent à redynamiser leur territoire au moyen de l’implantation ou du transfert d’équipements culturels. Ainsi, au cours des deux dernières décennies, une extraordinaire multiplication de projets de création de musées a eu lieu, souvent initiés en commun par des décideurs politiques et culturels. La question se pose alors de leur ancrage dans un système sectoriel d’innovation de la culture, visant autant des nouveautés conceptuelles qu’organisationnelles. L’article présentera une analyse de l’implantation du Centre Pompidou-Metz, démontrant l’importance de la formation et de l’institutionnalisation d’un champ d’action stratégique autour du projet, celui-ci produisant à la fois un cadre institutionnel favorable à sa réalisation et liant des acteurs à intérêts variables autour des enjeux communs. Selon l’hypothèse avancée, le succès et les retombées économiques à venir dépendront fortement de l’état, de l’évolution et de l’étendue de ce champ. |

| Summary, etc. | Cultural organizational innovation, social identity and economic revitalization of territories. The decentralization of a national cultural establishmentLike the label of “European Capital of Culture”, many European cities try to revitalize their territory through the means of the creation or the transfer of cultural facilities. The past two decades have witnessed an extraordinary increase in new museum projects, often initiated jointly by political and cultural decision makers. The question then arises about their anchoring in a cultural sectoral innovation system, equally aiming at conceptual and organizational innovations. The article presents an analysis of the establishment of the Centre Pompidou-Metz, demonstrating the importance of the formation and institutionalization of a strategic action field around the project. The aim is to set up an institutional frame that favors its realization and brings together players of different interests around common issues. According to our hypothesis, the success and the economic spin-offs in the future will depend to a large extent, on the state, the evolution and the scope of this network. |
