520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC.
Summary, etc.
520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC.
Summary, etc. Bipolar disorder and crime in Tunisia: A comparative study based on genderThe aim of this study was to estimate the sex-ratio in the field of forensic acts committed by patients with bipolar disorder and to assess the impact of gender on the characteristics of this criminal behaviour. A comparative study based on gender, performed at the Razi Psychiatric Hospital Tunis, included all consecutive patients hospitalized due to bipolar disorder between 1990 and 2010 following a dismissal by reason of insanity as stated in the Tunisian Penal Code. The total number of patients was 36 and the sex-ratio 3:5. The socio-demographic characteristics were comparable between the two groups. The type of criminal acts committed was classified by gender. The danger of bipolar women was important, increased the severity of bipolar illness and resulted, particularly during depressive phases in serious and lethal criminal acts.
520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC.
Summary, etc.
