| Summary, etc. | RésuméLes troubles du spectre de l’autisme (TSA) se caractérisent par un vaste éventail d’anomalies et d’atypies de la perception visuelle de bas niveau, de l’oculomotricité et de la perception des visages chez des individus atteints d’un TSA. Dans cette revue de littérature, nous décrivons les troubles visuo-attentionnels, oculo-moteurs et neurovisuels dans l’autisme et nous discutons l’impact qu’une attente précoce des fonctions visuelles peut avoir sur l’apparition des troubles dans le traitement de l’information sociale. Bien qu’un nombre important de ces déficits et de ces atypies soit connu et documenté, il n’existe à présent aucun modèle théorique permettant de comprendre comment des anomalies du traitement de l’information visuelle interagissent entre elles et contribuent à l’apparition des perturbations de l’interaction sociale chez ces individus. Une voie de recherche prometteuse permettant d’établir les liens entre ces fonctions pourrait avoir des implications importantes en clinique en proposant à la fois des nouveaux outils diagnostiques et des approches d’intervention thérapeutique précoces et plus efficaces. |

| Summary, etc. | Autism Spectrum Disorders and Functional Visual Disorders: a critical review, theoretical and clinical implicationsAutism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) are characterized by a wide range of anomalies and atypical low level visual perception, oculomotor and face perception in individuals suffering from ASD. In this review of the literature, we describe visual attention disorders, as well as oculomotor and neurovisual deficiencies in autism and discuss the impact that early expectation of visual functions can have on the appearance of the disorder in dealing with social information. Although a significant number of these deficits and these atypia is known and documented, currently there is no theoretical model for understanding how abnormal processing of visual information interact with each other and contribute to the development of social interaction disturbance in these individuals. One promising avenue of research which has permitted to establish the relationship between these functions may have important clinical implications by offering both new diagnostic tools and earlier more effective therapeutic intervention. |

| Summary, etc. | ResumenLos trastornos del espectro del autismo (PEA) se caracterizan por un amplio abanico de anomalías y de atipías de la percepción visual de bajo nivel, de la oculomotricidad y de la percepción de las caras en unos individuos con un TEA. En este repaso de literatura, describimos los trastornos viso-atencionales, oculo-motores y neurovisuales en el autismo y discutimos el impacto que una atención precoz de las funciones visuales puede tener en el surgimiento de los trastornos en el tratamiento de la información social. Aunque un gran número de estos déficits y de estas atípías sea conocido y documentado, actualmente no existe ningún modelo teórico que permita comprender cómo unas anomalías del tratamiento de la información visual interactúen entre sí y contribuyan a la aparición de las perturbaciones de la interacción social en estos individuos. Una vía de investigación prometedora que permita establecer los vínculos entre estas funciones podría tener implicaciones importantes en la clínica proponiendo a la vez nuevas herramientas diagnósticas y abordajes de intervención terapéutica precoces y más eficaces. |
