| Summary, etc. | RésuméL’avancée en âge s’accompagne de modifications physiques, psychologiques, neurobiologiques et environnementales augmentant le risque de décompensation psychiatrique. Les psychothérapies ont montré leur efficacité pour les troubles psychiatriques des personnes âgées, notamment dans la dépression. Les interventions psychothérapeutiques choisies doivent être adaptées aux besoins des personnes âgées sans changement majeur du contenu thérapeutique mais avec certaines adaptations appropriées à l’âge : psychoéducation régulière, traitement de l’information modifié, flexibilité par rapport aux contraintes fonctionnelles et sociales fréquentes. Les psychothérapies sont transportables dans les lieux de soins (par exemple en soins primaires) et de résidence des personnes âgés (ex., domicile) et peuvent être appliquées avec succès aux patients âgés polypathologiques se montrant efficaces sur d’autres problématiques fréquentes dans ce groupe d’âge (ex., la douleur). |

| Summary, etc. | Psychotherapy with older adultsAdvanced age is accompanied by physical, psychological, neurobiological and environmental changes increasing the risk of psychiatric disorder. Psychotherapy has demonstrated its effectiveness for the treatment of psychiatric disorders in older adults, essentially in depression. The chosen psychotherapeutic intervention should be adapted to the needs of older adults without radically changing its therapeutic content but with some age appropriate adaptations : adding a patient education element to the treatment, account for age-related changes in information-processing, allowing flexibility in the delivery of psychotherapy to accommodate frequent social and functional constraints. Psychotherapy can be successfully transported to the various care (e.g. primary care) or residence settings (e.g. at home) and can be used for older adults with a psychiatric disorder and medical comorbidity with efficacy for other frequent symptoms in this age group (e.g. pain). |

| Summary, etc. | ResumenEl avance de la edad va acompañado con cambios físicos, psicológicos, neurobiológicos y de entorno que acrecientan el riesgo de descompensación psiquiátrica. Las psicoterapias han demostrado su eficacia para los trastornos psiquiátricos de las personas de edad, especialmente en la depresión. Las intervenciones psicoterapéuticas elegidas deben adaptarse a las necesidades de las personas de edad sin un cambio mayúsculo del contenido terapéutico pero con ciertas adaptaciones apropiadas a la edad: psicoeducación regular, tratamiento de la información modificado, flexibilidad con relación a las obligaciones funcionales y sociales frecuentes. Las psicoterapias pueden transportarse a los lugares de atención (por ejemplo en cuidados primarios) y de residencia de las personas de edad (por ejemplo, el domicilio) y pueden aplicarse con éxito a los pacientes de edad polipatológicos que aparecen eficaces en otras problemáticas frecuentes en este grupo de edad (por ejemplo, el dolor). |
