Summary, etc. The so-called “blood minerals,” originating in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, are the source of the bloodiest conflict since the Second World War. The new regulation of the trade constitutes the first truly global regulation in the history of world commerce. Its analysis, based on product shopping – the last component of research which traces the legal organization of the mining industry in Africa – represents the opportunity to outline a new theory of the globalization of law, known as the theory of “normative spaces.” This theory decenters analysis by shifting focus from the nation state (the traditional realm of legal sciences) to the subject and his/her habits, the new object of global legal studies at the crossroads of legal sciences, the rights of man, and social sciences.
