| Summary, etc. | Objective: We aim to evaluate how well do patients treated by prolonged corticosteroid therapy know their treatment, as well as how they comply with the required hygiene rules and the factors influencing their behaviour. Methodology: Observational and prospective study, carried in our hospital's department of internal medicine, over a 4m period and including patients who have been undergoing treatment for over 3m. A questionnaire has been put together for data collection. Factors for good compliance predictability have been determined through a bivariate and a multi variate analysis. Results: In total, the study sample counted 97 patients of average age 51.1y+/- 13y. Sex ratio M/F was 0.18. A good observance has been found with 45% of the sample. Good compliance predicting factors, after a multivariate analysis, were: ageConclusions: The low level of compliance found suggests a need for additional efforts from all the healthcare actors are worthwhile. |

| Summary, etc. | L’objectif de notre étude était d’évaluer les connaissances des patients sur la corticothérapie et les mesures hygiéno-diététiques, l’observance des patients et les facteurs influençant l’observance. C’est une étude prospective observationnelle, effectuée au service de médecine interne de notre établissement, sur une période de quatre mois, portant sur les patients sous corticothérapie depuis au moins 3 mois. Un questionnaire a été préétabli pour recueil d’informations. Les facteurs prédictifs d’une bonne observance ont été déterminés par une analyse bivariée et multivariée. Au total, l’enquête a inclus 97 patients d’âge moyen 51,1 ans ± 13 ans et de sex ratio H/F de 0,18. Une bonne observance a été retrouvée chez 45 % des patients. Les facteurs prédictifs d’une bonne observance après analyse multivariée sont : l’âge < 40 ans (OR : 0,076, IC95% [0,015-0,378], p = 0,002) et la connaissance du traitement (OR : 0,033, IC95% [0,003-0,318] : p = 0,003). La connaissance des mesures hygiénodiététiques était liée à une bonne observance (p = 0,044). Le faible niveau d’observance retrouvé suggère la nécessité de réaliser des efforts de la part de tous les acteurs de la santé afin de l’améliorer. |
