Elle montre, avec un exemple clinique, comment le passé est représenté (Bion) par la tendance à recourir à des protections centrées sur le corps et dominées par des sensations, qui se trouvent réactivées lorsque les changements internes et externes, physiques et psychiques apportés par la puberté sont ressentis comme potentiellement écrasants, si le développement mental et émotionnel est vidé de sa substance et que la sensation et l’action viennent une nouvelle fois à la rescousse quand la manière de l’adolescent d’atténuer ses angoisses résonne inconsciemment avec ces événements non mentalisés de la prime enfance. |

| Summary, etc. | In this paper, Dr Mitrani discusses the re-occurrence of infantile, proto-mental functioning in adolescence. She demonstrates, through a clinical example, how the past is presented (Bion) in the tendency to resort to bodily-centered and sensation-dominated protections that are reactivated when the internal and external physical and psychological changes brought on in puberty are felt to be potentially overwhelming when adequate mental and emotional development is stultified and sensation and action once again come to the rescue now as the adolescent’s way of attenuating anxieties unconsciously resonating with those unmentalized happenings of early infancy. |
