Leur analyse est éclairée par une comparaison avec plusieurs pays. L’étude met ensuite en évidence les discriminations dont souffrent les Saoudiennes en raison du non-respect de la Déclaration universelle des droits de l’homme de 1948. D’autres textes internationaux adoptés par l’Arabie saoudite les rendent-ils possibles ? Les dirigeants du pays ont tout de même pris différentes décisions censées réduire les inégalités de genre. Signifient-elles une évolution structurelle ou bien ont-elles seulement pour objet de rassurer la communauté internationale ? |

| Summary, etc. | The issue of gender inequalities that discriminate against women in Saudi Arabia can first be studied by examining various statistics. Their analysis is informed by a comparison with several countries. The study then highlights the discrimination suffered by Saudi women due to the failure to respect the 1948 Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Do other international texts adopted by Saudi Arabia make them possible ? Nevertheless, the country's leaders have taken various decisions to reduce gender inequalities. Do they signify a structural change or are they only intended to reassure the international community? |
