Sa contribution à la diffusion de l’analyse démographique fut considérable et de nombreux démographes, à travers tous les continents, lui doivent leur formation, tant par son enseignement, à Paris et à Montréal, que par ses ouvrages. Son innovation pédagogique fut la création de « devoirs » comme apprentissage à la recherche. Homme de passion, il était également collectionneur de gravures, amateur de vins et de cigares. |
