| Summary, etc. | Cet article analyse les rapports étroits entre l’expressivité et les figures du discours dont on a souligné les liens avec la subjectivité. Une première section met en évidence les problèmes posés par la notion d’ expressivité figurale. Si les recherches sur les figures relèvent souvent leur nature expressive, celle-ci est décrite de façon lacunaire. S’appuyant sur trois figures représentatives, une seconde section envisage l’expressivité figurale comme un processus discursif impliquant plusieurs niveaux d’analyse. Sur le plan infradiscursif, les figures recèlent un potentiel expressif dû à l’orientation de leurs matrices rhétoriques. Sur le plan discursif, elles possèdent une portée expressive, en ce que leurs saillances font voir une activité énonciative marquée. Enfin sur le plan interdiscursif, elles se traduisent par des effets expressifs qui peuvent converger ou non avec leur portée expressive. |

| Summary, etc. | This article analyzes the close relationship between expressiveness and the figures of speech whose links with subjectivity have been emphasized. A first section highlights the problems posed by the notion of figural expressiveness. If research on figures often mentions their expressive nature, this is described incompletely. Based on three representative figures, a second section considers figural expressiveness as a discursive process involving several levels of analysis. On the infradiscursive level, the figures conceal an expressive potential due to the orientation of their rhetorical matrices. On the discursive level, they have an expressive scope, in that their saliences show a marked enunciative activity. Finally, on the interdiscursive level, they result in expressive effects which may or may not converge with their expressive scope. |
