| Summary, etc. | En quoi une langue des signes (LS) peut-elle favoriser le développement des habiletés en lecture-écriture chez les sourds ? Des avancées récentes dans la compréhension du traitement de l’information graphique chez les lecteurs sourds habiles nous invitent à nous décentrer des modèles phonologiques de la lecture pour envisager d’autres chemins possibles d’accès à l’écrit pour ce public et nous conduisent à l’hypothèse d’un fonctionnement cognitif spécifique à la surdité, dont les LS seraient le reflet le plus direct. Celles-ci ayant toute leur place pour soutenir cet apprentissage, nous présentons les intérêts de l’analyse contrastive LS-langue écrite pour ces apprenants et proposons une première ébauche de comparaison LSF-français écrit sur la proposition subordonnée relative. |

| Summary, etc. | How can a sign language support the development of reading and writing skills in deaf people? Recent insights into the reading behavior in skilled deaf readers invite us to shift our focus away from phonological models of reading, and to consider other possible paths to literacy, leading us to the hypothesis of a cognitive functioning specific to deafness, of which SL would be the most direct expression (Garcia & Perini 2010). We present the benefits of a sign language-written language contrastive analysis for these learners and propose a first draft of an LSF-written French comparison on the relative subordinate clause. |
