Summary, etc. RésuméCette communication présente, à partir de l’analyse statistique de 72 entretiens de parents français, vietnamiens et cambodgiens, la diversité des représentations de l’enfant, et des conceptions éducatives qu’elles véhiculent, en fonction des identités culturelles et sociales.Alors que la représentation française est massivement imprégnée de discours scientifique portant de façon monocorde sur un enfant faible qu’il faut protéger, la représentation asiatique articule diversement l’espoir dans l’avenir avec les préoccupations socio-économiques actuelles, les marques douloureuses du passé, les croyances locales, et les apports récents du discours scientifique.

Summary, etc. « Theories » of French, Vietnamese and Cambodian parents about children and their difficultiesThis communication presents, based on the statistical analysis of 72 interviews with French, Vietnamese and Cambodian parents, the diversity of representations of childhood, and the resulting educational concepts depending on cultural and social identities.While the French representation is largely influenced by a monotone scientific discourse on the frail child who must be protected, the Asian representation variously blends hope in the future with immediate socio-cultural preoccupations, the painful marks of the past, local beliefs, and recent notions of scientific discourse.

Summary, etc. ResumenA partir del análisis estadístico de setenta y dos entrevistas con padres franceses, vietnamitas y camboyanos, esta comunicación presenta la diversidad de las representaciones del niño y de las conceptiones educativas que estas comportan, en función de las entidades culturales y sociales.Mientras que la representación francesa esta impregnada del discurso científico presentando de manera monocorde un niño fragil que debe ser protegido, la representacion asíatica articula diversamente la esperanza en el porvenir con las preocupaciones socio-económicas actuales, las marcas dolorosas del pasado, las creencias locales y los aportes recientes del discurso científico.
