S’il en est ainsi, la perception des valeurs de société et de la légitimité des missions confiées aux soldats ne peut trop diverger entre les militaires et leurs concitoyens. Cet article restitue les résultats d’une enquête empirique sur les valeurs des officiers comparées à celles de l’ensemble des Français dans un certain nombre de domaines : valeurs de société, attentes envers l’État, confiance réciproque dans les institutions et enfin, légitimité de l’emploi des forces et attitudes envers les pertes humaines. |

| Summary, etc. | Don’t the values contribute to the solidarity between the society and its armed forces ? If it is the case, the perception of the social and moral values and the legitimacy of the missions entrusted to the military cannot diverge too much between the soldiers and their fellow-citizens. This article restores the results of an empirical investigation on the values of the officers compared with those of the French in certain fields : general values, expectations towards the State, reciprocal confidence in the institutions and finally, legitimacy of the use of the forces and attitudes towards human losses. |
