| Summary, etc. | La pratique des échanges intercommunautaires et interreligieux est ancrée dans les coutumes ancestrales de plusieurs régions indonésiennes. Elle a décliné sous les régimes autoritaires de Sukarno puis Suharto, qui ont affaibli les traditions locales pour mieux les contrôler, et centralisé la définition du droit au détriment de la coutume. Dans les années 2000, notamment dans le cadre de la recherche de solutions aux violences interconfessionnelles qui ont ensanglanté la région des Moluques, ces pratiques ont été réhabilitées et redéfinies sous la forme de dialogues interreligieux, présentés comme un élément constitutif de l’identité nationale. Les autorités s’efforcent désormais de promouvoir sur la scène internationale cette expérience du dialogue interreligieux, en favorisant notamment l’action d’acteurs musulmans conformes aux principes constitutionnels de l’Etat indonésien. |

| Summary, etc. | The practice of exchanges between communities and religions is rooted in the ancestral customs of several Indonesian regions. This declined under the authoritarian regimes of Sukarno and then Suharto, which weakened local traditions in order to better control them, and centralised the definition of law at the expense of custom. In the years after 2000, in particular as part of an attempt to resolve the sectarian violence that caused massive bloodshed in the region of the Maluku Islands, these practices were reinstated and redefined in the form of interreligious dialogues, presented as a constituent part of national identity. The authorities now strive to promote this interreligious dialogue experiment, mainly by encouraging Muslim actors according to the constitutional principles of the Indonesian state. |
