| Summary, etc. | Les manières d’être père ont changé. Les différences entre les générations induisent de nouvelles tendances. On est passé d’une paternité institutionnelle à une paternité relationnelle impliquée, promue par la mobilité des identités et la démocratie de l’intime. Différentes recherches permettent d’analyser les changements dans ce sens. Une juxtaposition des représentations héritées du patriarcat rural et industriel fait néanmoins obstacle à la transformation des institutions, des rapports sociaux genrés, des pratiques éducatives. Si des facteurs favorables accompagnent ces changements et le comportement « des nouveaux pères », il importe aussi de lever les freins qui s’y opposent afin de tendre vers la parité parentale dans une société multiculturelle, respectueuse des droits, dans l’estime de soi, le respect d’autrui et de l’enfant. |

| Summary, etc. | Ways of being a father have changed. Differences between generations have led to new trends. We have gone from an institutional form of paternity to an involved, relational paternity, promoted by the mobility of identities and the democracy of intimacy. Various studies allow us to analyse changes in this direction. However a juxtaposition of representations inherited from the rural and industrial patriarchy hinders the transformation of institutions, of gendered social relationships, and of educational practices. Furthermore, while positive factors accompany these changes and the behaviours of these “new fathers” , it is also important to lift the barriers opposing these changes to work towards parental equality, in a multicultural society, respectful of human rights, preserving self-esteem, and with respect for others and for the children. |

| Summary, etc. | Las formas de ser padre han cambiado. Las diferencias entre generaciones conducen a nuevas tendencias. Hemos pasado de la paternidad institucional a una paternidad relacional involucrada, promovida por la movilidad de las identidades y la democracia de la intimidad. Varias investigaciones permiten analizar los cambios en esta dirección. Sin embargo, una yuxtaposición de representaciones heredadas del patriarcado rural e industrial obstaculiza la transformación de las instituciones, las relaciones sociales de género y las prácticas educativas. Si bien hay factores favorables en estos cambios y en el comportamiento de los «nuevos padres», también es importante eliminar los obstáculos que se interponen en su camino para avanzar hacia la paridad parental en una sociedad multicultural, respetuosa de los derechos del prójimo y de los niños. |
