Summary, etc. | The use of digital tools and its consequence—immersion in virtual realities—is part of daily life. The digital revolution profoundly changes our care practices by creating new spaces in the real world: virtual universes and “augmented” reality. This virtual-real transplantation may refer to a man-machine hybrid and the creation of robots may support a representation of human enhancement. We consider two clinical situations in care practices that test the implementation of digital tools: the use of video games in group psychotherapy for adolescents, and the use of robots in minimally invasive cardiac surgery by laparoscopy to treat cardiothoracic diseases. We question the negative and positive impacts of the new therapeutic devices based on immersive experience and interactivity. The relationship to the body and to psychic reality, for patients and caregivers, will be analyzed in reference to contemporary institutional and meta-social frameworks. |
