Summary, etc. | Conducting hearings of detained people via videoconferencing remains a controversial issue that has been the subject of many judicial decisions over the last few years. While the use of videoconferencing has often been discussed and criticized with regard to hearings of people held in pre-trial detention, it has been neglected by academics when it comes to detained asylum seekers. However, both of these groups present a common vulnerability that calls into question the respect of fundamental rights in the use of videoconferencing. |
