Summary, etc. |
520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC. | |
Summary, etc. | Neologisms are sometimes defined with respect to their ability to trigger neological intuition, i.e. the impression of lexical novelty. In this paper, we investigate the correlates of such a definition by exploring the variation of neological intuition according to two linguistic properties: formal novelty and lexical regularity. Through a behavioral experiment with native French speakers, we demonstrate that neological intuition depends not only on individuals, but also on the two linguistic factors we study. |
