520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC. | |
Summary, etc. |
520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC. | |
Summary, etc. | This article discusses the French obstruent system of Cantonese L1 speakers learning French. Their laryngeal interphonology, including initial stops and fricatives, is investigated in this study. By exploring a corpus of Cantonese learners of French in China, we investigated the neutralization and reparation of voicing in the L2 laryngeal phonology. Our analysis revealed that L1 transfer contributes to laryngeal neutralization and that universal grammar plays a significant role in laryngeal fortition in interphonology. |
