Summary, etc. | L’objectif de la présente étude est de tester l’influence de la fréquence sur l’acquisition de la liaison dans une nouvelle population, soit chez 49 enfants et adolescents bilingues franco-germanophones différant par leur temps d’exposition au français. L’étude montre que, même si les enfants bilingues présentent les mêmes trajectoires d’acquisition que les enfants monolingues, les phases développementales diffèrent de celles observées chez ces derniers. Toutefois, le développement semble être nettement hétérogène : plus la compétence linguistique est élevée, plus le développement de la liaison est avancé. La présente étude fournit donc de nouveaux arguments pour les approches basées sur l’usage mais souligne la présence d’autres facteurs qui entrent en jeu, à savoir la scolarisation ou l’enseignement explicite de la liaison. |

Summary, etc. | The aim of the present study is to test the influence of frequency on the acquisition of liaison in a new population: 49 French-German bilingual children and teenagers differing in their exposure time to French. The study shows that although bilingual children show the same acquisition trajectories as monolingual children, the developmental phases differ from those observed among the latter. However, development seems to be extremely heterogeneous: The higher the language proficiency, the more advanced the development of liaison. The present study thus provides new arguments for usage-based approaches, but points out that there also seem to be other factors influencing the acquisition of liaison, namely schooling or explicit teaching of liaison. |
