| Summary, etc. | RésuméLes relations entre la création des régions administratives et l’évolution du discours scolaire en géographie régionale sont étudiées à partir du cas de la région Midi-Pyrénées. Le discours scolaire est caractérisé à partir des instructions officielles et des manuels de collège et de lycée depuis la création de la région en 1964 et est confronté aux étapes d’évolution de la région et de la géographie universitaire. Cette comparaison met en évidence que, à la création de la région, prévalait une approche géographique fondée sur les régions naturelles qui a progressivement disparue. Elle fait également apparaître que l’évolution de la région vers une collectivité territoriale a correspondu à l’introduction d’une réflexion sur ce qu’est une région en géographie. Actuellement, les élèves étudient la région dans laquelle ils vivent autant dans un objectif civique que dans une perspective d’analyse géographique. |

| Summary, etc. | Region’s creation and regional studies in french secondary schools: the example of Midi-Pyrénées regionThe connection between the founding of administrative french regions and the evolution of school regional geography is studied through the analisis of the Midi-Pyrénées example. The school presentations of the region are characterized from curriculums and text books of secondary school since the founding of the region in 1964 and are compared with the region’s construction stages and also with universitary geography evolution. This comparison reveals that when the region was founded prevailed a physical geography approach which has progressively disappeared. It also points out that the region evolution towards a territory governed by elected assembly is linked with the introduction of a reflexion on what’s a region in geography. Today, pupils study the region where they live, in a civic purpose and in a geographic analysis aim. |
