520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC. | |
Summary, etc. |
520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC. | |
Summary, etc. | Sagard’s Le Grand voyage du pays des Hurons (1632) borrows several features from the narrative of adventure: the reader is invited to contemplate an epic journey marked by innumerable dangers, the purpose of which is the conversion of the people who are, a priori, the most resistant to the Christian message. But it also draws, not unequivocally, on fictional patterns in order to « plaire ». The term adventure can also be considered in terms of the sensual effects that post-Tridentine missiology – including the use of material images – has sometimes induced in contact with the Huron world. |
