520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC. | |
Summary, etc. |
520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC. | |
Summary, etc. | Formerly Spanish Western Sahara was decolonized quite late in 1976 and remains an uncertain territory between effective occupation by Morocco retrieving its pre-colonial borders, Mauritania which was excluded from claims from 1978, and the Polisario Front national liberation movement founded on a Moorish tribal warrior basis Matinée de Révolution. Most of the Sahrawi population live in autonomous “camps” out of reach of the Algerian borders nearby, but it is almost equal with the population that had stayed put and is hence under Moroccan control. Not counting the migrants to Spain or Cuba. How can a claimed territory be defined from such diverse positions? That is the unresolved question that research work had not yet elucidated. |
