520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC. | |
Summary, etc. |
520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC. | |
Summary, etc. | Many geographers have produced many different definitions of what « nature » is. This paper aims at considering “nature” from a contemporary epistemic point of view. Nature is two fold: first, a natural object (such as a tsunami) is ontologically different from a social object (such as the danger it creates); second, in the anthropocene period, no natural object is free from social forcing and controls. Therefore there is no need to reduce geography to a “social only” science, no use to reduce it to a “nature friendly” science, there is an absolute need to think it as a science which studies the moving spatial patterns of any type of object. |
