| Summary, etc. | Cet article porte sur la question des droits des personnes homosexuelles au Cameroun et des associations qui les défendent. En prenant en compte les expériences d’hommes homosexuels confrontés à la violence de l’État, et aux actions policières qui légitiment les violences exercées depuis la société envers les personnes homosexuelles, l’argumentaire de ce travail se base sur le hiatus entre l’adhésion du Cameroun aux principaux traités internationaux qui condamnent la discrimination des personnes homosexuelles, légitiment les activités des militants pour les droits de l’Homme, et la réalité du terrain où, dans le cas du Cameroun, la législation nationale pénalise l’homosexualité et entrave le droit d’association. Le droit devient ainsi une arme offensive à l’égard des personnes homosexuelles et de leurs défenseurs. |

| Summary, etc. | This article deals with the issue of homosexual rights in Cameroon and the associations that defend them. Taking into account the experiences of homosexual men confronted with State violence, and the police actions that legitimize the violence perpetrated by society towards homosexuals, the argumentation of this work is based on the hiatus between the Cameroon’s adherence to the main international treaties that condemn discrimination against homosexuals, legitimize the activities of human rights activists, and the reality on the ground where, in the case of Cameroon, national legislation penalizes homosexuality and hinders the right of association. The law thus becomes an offensive weapon against homosexuals and their defender. |
