| Summary, etc. | Donnant suite à plusieurs de nos recherches à propos du corps dans l’espace, cet article prend plus précisément le parti d’analyser les mutations des relations corps/lieu en considérant la nature comme intermédiation. Il s’agit de saisir cette relation aux limites du possible, c’est-à-dire impliquant des excès au plan du corps comme au plan de la nature. Notre choix s’est porté sur les sports qualifiés d’extrêmes et sur une des figures archétypales de ces activités : Marco Siffredi, freerider des pentes les plus vertigineuses du monde à la fin des années 1990 et disparu en snowboard à l’Everest en septembre 2002. |

| Summary, etc. | Following up on several of our researches about the body in space, this article more precisely takes the side of analyzing the mutations of body/place relations by considering nature (wilderness in a French sense) as intermediation. It is about grasping this relationship at the limits of the possible, that is to say involving excesses at the level of the body as well as at the level of nature. Our choice fell on sports described as extreme and on one of the archetypal figures of these activities: Marco Siffredi, freerider of the most dizzying slopes in the world at the end of the 1990s and who disappeared while snowboarding on Everest in September 2002. |
