| Summary, etc. | Communication deficits are often observed in patients with frontal lobe damage. The first purpose of this study is to examine pragmatic skills in adults with frontal lesions and controls subject (without lesions) during an interview situation. Our second goal is to evaluate the impact of the conversational strategies used by the interlocutor on the patient’s discourse. Main results show that patients have problems to respect the cooperation principles required in an interview context : they do a lot of digressions and they have difficulties with topic development. Concerning the role of the feedback by the interlocutor, our results show that the use of a structured strategy did not always give a rise to the best performance. These data can open up new pathways for understanding and assessing frontal-lobe pragmatic disorders. |
