| Summary, etc. | RésuméÀ partir d’un rapprochement entre deux textes très éloignés, l’un appartenant à un roman de Beckett ( Watt) et l’autre à un dialogue de Platon ( Philèbe), je risque l’hypothèse d’une origine commune au discours, à l’image, au concept. Hypothèse qui permet de rendre compte de la grande diversité des textes de Beckett ; mais qui conduit aussi à envisager autrement le processus même de la pensée, telle du moins que la donne à voir l’écriture philosophique. |

| Summary, etc. | The meaning of an exampleIn this article I hazard a hypothesis regarding the common origins of discourse, images, and concepts, based on the confrontation of two very dissimilar texts, one from a novel by Beckett (Watt), the other from one of Plato’s dialogues (Philebus). This hypothesis provides an explanation for the great diversity of Beckett’s texts; but it also leads to considering the process of thought itself somewhat differently, at any rate where one considers the thought that presents itself in philosophical writing. |
