| Summary, etc. | Si les pratiques littéraires hors du livre ne suffisent pas à marginaliser l’objet livre, elles invitent à porter un regard critique sur celui-ci, en rendant plus sensible l’écart entre le livret le texte, en donnant, par opposition à toutes les dimensions virtuelles de la littérature, une importance accrue à sa dimension matérielle. En perdant l’évidence de son statut, le livre devient un objet plus étrange dont le support interroge. Cette étude est consacrée au premier recueil signé par Paul Eluard, Le Devoir, dont la plaquette fut tirée sous une couverture muette de papier beige en 1916. |

| Summary, etc. | If literary practices away from the book do not completely succeed in marginalizing the book object, they nevertheless invite us to look critically on the latter, through making the gap between book and text more perceptible, in confering, in opposition to all the virtual dimensions of literature, a greater importance to its material dimension. Deprived of the evidence of its status, the book becomes a rather strange object the medium of which triggers questions. This study is devoted to Le Devoir, the first collection signed by Paul Eluard, a leaflet which was printed under a no-title beige cover in 1916. |
