| Summary, etc. | L’entrée dans la Modernité a signifié « la fin du monde », au sens du monde clos sur lui-même, celui des traditions et hiérarchies préétablies. Depuis, comme l’explique Michaël Foessel dans un essai récent, deux voies ne cessent de s’opposer : soit l’ouverture à un monde compris cette fois comme horizon de possibles, soit le repli identitaire sur le flux de la vie. À l’aune de cette opposition, le philosophe met en lumière la forme de subjectivité qui domine notre époque : celle de l’entrepreneur capitaliste, en retrait du monde et investi dans sa vie comme dans une affaire. Néanmoins, la dichotomie monde/vie permet-elle de penser concrètement un « autre monde possible » ? |

As Michaël Foessel eplained in a recent book, nowadays two ways confront each other : the opining to a world understood as a horizon of possibilities and the fall back on our identities. The philosopher brings to light the form of subjectivity which prevails today with the capitalist man invested in his life as in his business. However, does the opposition world/life relevant to think about an “other world” in concrete terms ? |
