| Summary, etc. | La correspondance échangée entre Louis Althusser et Lucien Sève, de 1949 à 1987, doit être envisagée selon trois perspectives, différentes quoique indissociables : une amitié, qui ne s’est jamais démentie jusqu›à la fin des échanges, un compagnonnage politique, tous deux étant membres du PCF et des divergences théoriques qui apparaissent, finalement, assez tôt. On propose de distinguer quatre périodes : 1949-1961, 1962-1973, 1974-1977, 1980-1987. C’est la deuxième période qui est décisive, elle se conclut par l’absence de terrain d’entente entre une conception de la doctrine marxiste inséparable d’une anthropologie théorique, prenant appui avant tout (non pas uniquement) sur les hommes au travail (Sève) et une théorisation du matérialisme historique qui ne rencontre nullement l’homme (ou les hommes) dans son élaboration conceptuelle, la réalité psychique à laquelle donne accès cette pratique spécifique qu’est la psychanalyse participant d’un autre continent, séparé par un océan de celui qui est justiciable d’une science des formations sociales au sens fort (Althusser). |

| Summary, etc. | Correspondence exchanged between Louis Althusser and Lucien Sève from 1949 to 1987 must be considered from three different but inseparable stand-points : a friendship never being denied until the end of exchanges, a political companionship as both were Pcf members, and rather early-appearing theoretical divergences. Four periods may be distinguished, the second period, 1962-1973, is decisive and concludes with the impossibility of agreement between conceiving a Marxist doctrine as inseparable from a theoretical anthropology based essentially but not entirely on Man at work (Sève) and theorizing the historical materialism as no meeting Man (or Men) during its conceptual elaboration, because the psychic reality to whom psychoanalysis introduces proceeds from another area, very far from the area of the sciences of social formations in a strong sense (Althusser). |
