| Summary, etc. | L’auteur recense les fonctions accomplies par le rêve, telles : la remémoration des traces mnésiques infantiles qu’il tisse aux restes diurnes pour en faire des souvenirs ; la désexualisation de la charge œdipienne de ces formations inconscientes autorisant le renoncement aux objets primaires ; la réorganisation de l’espace psychique grâce à la redistribution des domaines impartis à l’inconscient et au préconscient et à la création d’une « autre scène » propre à la représentation de la vie fantasmatique ; le désendeuillement des morts aimés laissés dans l’esprit par l’histoire individuelle aussi bien que phylogénétique du rêveur. Ce travail « physique » réalisé par le processus du rêve justifie sa comparaison avec celui du tisserand. Freud en emprunte la métaphore à Goethe qui y recourut pour se familiariser avec la fabrique de la pensée en général. |

| Summary, etc. | The author lists the functions fulfilled by the dream, such as : the recollection of infantile anamnesic traces which it weaves with daytime residues to turn them into memories; the desexualization of the oedipal charge of these unconscious structures, which permits the giving up of the primary objects; the reorganization of psychic space thanks to redistribution between to unconscious and preconscious, and the creation of an "alternative space" dedicated to the representation of fantasy life; finally, liberation of dead loved objects from the dreamer’s individual and phylogenetic history. It is this “physical” work of dreaming which justifies its comparison with the work of a weaver. Freud borrows the metaphor from Goethe, who turned to it in its approach to a general understanding of the construction of thought. |
