| Summary, etc. | L’auteur propose une mise en perspective historique des pratiques langagières dans les situations de travail : d’abord dans les usines taylorisées, puis dans les nouvelles formes d’organisation du travail et les nouveaux secteurs productifs. L’évolution des pratiques langagières en milieu de travail se caractérise par quatre grands mouvements. L’usage des langues dites de la migration était et demeure une pratique dévalorisée et sans visibilité sociale. En revanche, les usages parlés du français qui, dans le taylorisme étaient non-reconnus voire interdits, voient leur statut s’inverser et ils deviennent un enjeu de la productivité des entreprises. Le dialogue “de service” entre un usager et un salarié constitue une pratique langagière en expansion notoire. Enfin, les pratiques de l’écrit (lecture et écriture) se généralisent à l’ensemble des professions. |

| Summary, etc. | The language part of work The author proposes a historical overview of language practices in work situations: first in Taylorized factories, then in the more modern forms of organization of labor and in the new productive sectors. Four broad movements characterize the evolution of language practices in work situations. The use of so-called immigrant languages has always been and remains in low esteem and has no social surface. In contrast, spoken varieties of French, which, in Taylorism, went unrecognized or were even forbidden, have acquired a new status, becoming a stake in a company's productivity. The “service” dialogue between employee and customer is one language practice that has been considerably expanding. Finally, practices of literacy (reading and writing) continue to proliferate in all professions. |
