| Summary, etc. | La constitution de grands corpus de langue parlée, comme il s’en fait actuellement pour toutes les langues d’Europe, est en train de changer la conception que nous nous faisons de la grammaire de nos langues. Le renouvellement est particulièrement important pour le français, en raison du poids de l’orthographe grammaticale et de la primauté de l’écrit dans la représentation que nous avons de notre langue. La langue parlée révèle une diversité de compétences qui ne peut pas se manifester aussi facilement par écrit et elle montre, surtout dans la morphologie, l’existence d’une grammaire typologiquement différente de celle de l’écrit. |

| Summary, etc. | Oral corpora and the grammatical description of language The constitution of large, oral corpora, as is presently being done for all the languages in Europe, is changing the way we think of our languages’ grammar. This refresher is particularly important for French, due to the weight of grammatical spelling and the primacy of writing in the way we see our language. Spoken French reveals a variety of possibilities that cannot be as easily demonstrated in writing and shows, especially its morphology, that there is a grammar typologically different from that of the written language. |
