Summary, etc. | RésuméCette recherche étudie le point de vue des buveurs de vin en ce qui concerne la relation entre la nourriture et le vin en général. Pour cette recherche exploratoire nous avons utilisé des méthodes qualitatives dans le but d’étudier en profondeur la compréhension de la relation entre le vin et la nourriture de la part de buveurs de vins. La recherche suggère que la consommation de vin en même temps que la nourriture peut avoir un but utilitaire. Plus importante, toutefois, est l’opinion des buveurs sur la manière dont le vin complète la nourriture. Cette complémentarité est en relation avec la saveur et la situation, qui sont des raisons individuelles de lier le vin et la nourriture. Cette étude offre un aperçu de la structure de cette relation et développe la base d’une analyse théorique à ce sujet. Pour les praticiens du marketing du vin, la recherche peut aider au développement de stratégies marketing vin/nourriture plus finement ciblées. |

Summary, etc. | This research investigates the perspective of wine drinkers on the relationship between food and wine generally. The research was exploratory, and used qualitative methods, in order to investigate in depth wine drinkers’ understanding of wine and its relationship to food. The research suggests that the consumption of wine alongside food may have a utilitarian purpose. Of more importance, however, is the view drinkers take about how wine complements food. This complementarity relates both to flavour and to situation which are discrete reasons for the link between wine and food. This study offers an insight into the structure of that relationship, and develops the basis of a theoretical analysis of it. For the wine marketing practitioner the research may aid the development of more carefully targeted wine/food marketing strategies. |
