| Summary, etc. | Cet article propose d’interroger les contextes favorisant la réémergence dans l’espace public algérien de la question messaliste longtemps condamnée au silence ou confinée à l’exil. On y voit comment, de 1964 à 1994, des coalitions partisanes d’opposition ou encore le travail de journalistes dans le contexte d’effervescence démocratique ont permis, malgré les tentatives de recadrage, de frayer la voie à l’évolution du discours officiel sur l’histoire du mouvement indépendantiste. |

| Summary, etc. | STATE HIDING AND PRIVATE APROPRIATION: MEMORY TENSION AROUND THE MESSALIST QUESTION IN ALGERIA (1964-1994) This article suggests questioning contexts favoring the re-emergence in the Algerian public place of the messalist question, for a long time sentenced to the silence or confined on the exile. We see here how, from 1964 till 1994, partisan coalitions of opposition or journalists’ work in the context of democratic effervescence allowed, in spite of the attempts of reframing, to clear the way in the evolution of the official speech on the history of the pro-independence movement. |
