Les termes mobilisés pour en rendre compte méritent d’être clarifiés sur la base d’une distinction entre coordinations économique et institutionnelle liant des nations géographiquement proches. La typologie résultant du croisement de ces deux critères, appliquée au processus en cours en Asie orientale permet ainsi de distinguer deux périmètres : régionalisation dans l’ASEAN +3 et intégration économique régionale dans l’ASEAN. |

| Summary, etc. | Characterizing regional integration: a coordination oriented approach Regional integration processes are proliferating in varied forms. A distinction between economic and institutional coordination is useful tool to clarify the nature of linkages between geographically close countries. Our typology based on these two criteria gives new light on the East-Asian integration process. This region could be seen with two perimeters: « regionalization » within Asean Plus Three (APT) and regional economic integration within ASEAN. |
