Dans la réalité, le tourisme fait état de patients désireux de bénéficier de soins à l’étranger tout en obtenant une convalescence dans un environnement différent de leur quotidien. Plusieurs facteurs conduisent à l’adoption de ces offres : longueur des listes d’attente d’accès aux soins et prix constituent des variables influençant le comportement des patients. Cet article analyse l’impact du tourisme médical sur l’économie, les patients et les régions à l’origine de ces offres de services médicaux. |

| Summary, etc. | Medical tourism : what role for developing countries ? Medical tourism is seen as a recent concept and is mainly seen as plastic surgery in developing countries. However, medical tourism refers to patients taking advantage of medical services abroad in an environment different from that of their everyday lives. Several factors have led to this recent phenomenon : long waiting list in order to be operated and prices of cares are main variables influencing patient behavior. The purpose of this article is to highlight and study the impact of medical tourism on economy, patients and countries providers of health care services. |
