| Summary, etc. | Les comportements individuels proactifs de socialisation constituent l’un des moyens essentiels par lesquels les individus s’intègrent dans une organisation. Notre recherche s’intéresse à l’analyse des déterminants individuels de ces comportements, en particulier aux antécédents dispositionnels. Nous avons obtenu l’accord d’une grande compagnie d’assurance française pour l’envoi d’un questionnaire aux nouveaux collaborateurs embauchés en 2010, nous permettant d’obtenir 218 questionnaires remplis et utilisables. Nous montrons, d’une part, qu’il existe un déterminant dispositionnel commun aux différents comportements proactifs et, d’autre part, que la personnalité proactive jusqu’ici mobilisée dans la littérature a un pouvoir explicatif nettement plus faible que l’initiative personnelle. Nous appelons donc les chercheurs à utiliser le concept d’initiative personnelle plutôt que celui de personnalité proactive dans les futures recherches. |

| Summary, etc. | Individual proactive behaviors are essential during socialization. Our research focuses on the individual antecedents of proactive behaviors. We focus our work on the dispositional antecedents of these behaviors. Our data were collected in a major French insurance company among the employees hired in 2010. 218 questionnaires were collected. Our data analysis shows that the proactive behaviors identified by the literature share a common antecedent. We also show that proactive personnality, which is usually presented in the literature as the key antecedents of organizational proactive behaviors, has a lesser explanatory role than personal initiative. We encourage thus researchers in this field to use the concept of personal initiative instead of proactive personality in future research. |
