| Summary, etc. | Nous étudions l’activité féminine en Algérie sur un échantillon de 783 femmes actives tiré d’une enquête ménages réalisée à Bejaia en 2012. Grâce à un modèle logit multinomial et à une série de fonctions de gains, nous identifions les déterminants de l’accès et des gains des femmes dans les différents segments du marché du travail (formel et informel). La faiblesse du niveau d’éducation augmente la probabilité d’intégrer le secteur informel, ce qui conforte l’hypothèse de la segmentation du marché du travail et met l’accent sur l’existence d’un segment de subsistance au sein même du secteur informel. |

| Summary, etc. | Characteristics and determinants of women's informal employment in Algeria : the case of Bejaia We study women's activity in Algeria upon a sample of 783 active women drawn from a household survey implemented in Bejaia in 2012. Thanks to a multinomial logit model and a series of earnings functions, we identify the determinants of access and earnings of women in the various formal and informal segments of the labor market. The low education level increases the likelihood of integrating the informal sector. This confirms the hypothesis of segmentation of the labor market and emphasizes the existence of a livelihood segment within the informal sector. |
