| Summary, etc. | Le présent article a pour objet de cerner les raisons économiques et sociales qui ont motivé la migration des Turcs à Chypre à partir de 1975. Outre les nombreux avantages que ce déplacement offrait aux ressortissants de Turquie, cette migration représentait aussi un enjeu important pour la société d’accueil, et notamment sur les plans politique, économique et démographique. Il sera ici question non seulement de décrire les caractéristiques de ces flux migratoires mais aussi de cerner l’accueil qui est réservé aux nouveaux arrivants par les populations autochtones : nous verrons ainsi que l’attribution de la citoyenneté aux migrants turcs est loin d’avoir permis l’acceptation inconditionnelle de ces derniers dans la société chypriote. |
