| Summary, etc. | Cet article présente le nouveau livre de Zhao Tingyang, professeur à l’Institut de Philosophie de l’Académie chinoise des Sciences Sociales : « De la contemporanéité du Tianxia ou la possibilité d’un monde fondé sur le système Tianxia », Citic Press, Beijing, 2016. Le livre définit le concept du Tianxia comme un système de gouvernance juxtaposant la Terre, la psychologie des peuples et une institution mondiale inclusive. Zhao Tingyang s’appuie sur l’expérience historique de la Dynastie des Zhou (1046-256 av J.C.). A partir des écrits classiques chinois et étrangers, il restitue et analyse les conditions historiques de l’avènement et du déclin du système Tianxia de la dynastie des Zhou, qui dans sa conception d’un monde inclusif, était en avance sur son époque. Par la suite, le Tianxia inspira le système politique chinois, que Zhao décrit comme un véritable vortex formé par le jeu de la conquête de la plaine centrale sans cesse renouvelée et qui entraînait peuples et ethnies attirés par les ressources naturelles et spirituelles de cette plaine centrale. Zhao oppose le système Tianxia érigé en théorie politique aux théories politiques modernes des Etats-nations venues d’Occident. Il propose le système Tianxia comme une nouvelle politique qui prendrait le monde et sa souveraineté comme sujets. |

| Summary, etc. | This article presents the new book by Zhao Tingyang, Professor at the Institute of Philosophy of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences: “A Possible World of All-under-heaven System“, Citic Press, Beijing, 2016. The book defines the concept of Tianxia as a system of governance juxtaposing the Earth, the psychology of peoples and an inclusive global institution. Zhao Tingyang draws on the historical experience of the Zhou Dynasty (1046-256 BC). From the classical Chinese and foreign writings, he restores and analyzes the historical conditions of the advent and decline of the Tianxia system of the Zhou dynasty, which in its conception of an inclusive world was ahead of its time. Subsequently, the Tianxia inspired the Chinese political system, which Zhao described as a veritable vortex formed by the continually renewed conquest of the Central Plain and which brought people and ethnic groups attracted by the natural and spiritual resources of this Central Plain. Zhao opposes the Tianxia system erected in political theory to the modern political theories of the nation-states coming from the West. He proposes the Tianxia system as a new policy that would take the world and its sovereignty as subjects. |
