| Summary, etc. | Le coup d’État chilien du 11 septembre 1973 a eu une réception contrastée dans les milieux démocrates-chrétiens européens. Tandis qu’en Italie il a suscité un débat sur le « compromis historique », en Espagne un tel événement semble ne plus être craint après plus de trois décennies de dictature franquiste. Partout, la solidarité avec les exilés a été très importante, même si la Fondation Konrad Adenauer a d’abord privilégié les courants démocrates-chrétiens initialement favorables à la dictature. |

While the latter triggered a debate over the “Historic Compromise” in Italy, Spain was no longer afraid of such events taking place after more than thirty years of Franco’s dictatorship. Solidarity with the exiles was high everywhere even if the Konrad Adenauer Foundation initially supported the Christian Democrats who were originally in favor of the dictatorship. |
