Cet entretien avec l’historien Alexandre Papas remet en cause la conception établie de la religiosité ouïghoure. En discutant de la vie et de la contribution littéraire de quelques poètes soufis vagabonds tels que Mashrab, Zalîlî et Nidâ’î, cette conversation aborde l’importance des pratiques spirituelles dans la région ouïghoure et leurs origines diverses. |

| Summary, etc. | Religious identity of Uyghurs, Kazakhs and other Turkic people living in the Uyghur region has become, over the years, one of the official motives of the Chinese government’s repressive policy. The Uyghur religious activities are considered backward and not compatible with modern China; rhetoric that led to the ban on most activity related to Islam. This interview with the historian Alexandre Papas challenges the established understanding about Uyghur religiosity. By discussing the lives and literary contribution of select Sufi Vagabond poets such as Mashrab, Zalîlî and Nidâ’î, this conversation discusses the importance and diverse origins of spiritual practices in the Uyghur region. |
