520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC. | |
Summary, etc. |
520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC. | |
Summary, etc. | This article explores the hybridization of self-recognition in literature in the late 20th-century China. Specifically, it focuses on Fredric Jameson’s “national allegory” theory, one of the most influential theories in the late 20th-century China. Inspired by Qiao Yiology, this article highlights the impact of Fredric Jameson’s “national allegory” theory from the background of the “High Theory Wave” of Chinese literary theory in the 1990s. The untranslatability caused by the incommensurability of the concept of National Allegory, its “mistranslated” concept of “national allegory” accompanied by the interpretation of third world literature and culture has profoundly affected the transformation of contemporary Chinese academic discourse paradigm. Although this paradoxical “passive” transformation has not changed the existing anxiety of cultural identity, the new-burn theories like Qiao-Yiology points out a possible way to outlook the general principles and common laws of literary creation. |
