| Summary, etc. | Résumé La cryoconservation est devenu un élément incontournable dans la prise en charge des couples infertiles en assistance médicale à la procréation. Le recours à la congélation embryonnaire en fécondation in vitro est de plus en plus fréquent, avec un pourcentage croissant d’enfants nés, issus d’embryons congelés. La question d’un éventuel impact des procédés de congélation/décongélation sur la santé des enfants se pose, d’autant que les techniques de congélation ont évolué avec l’introduction de la vitrification. Si les données disponibles sont globalement rassurantes, mettant même en évidence des issues périnatales meilleures pour les risques d’hypotrophie et de prématurité, elles soulignent également un surrisque de macrosomie fœtale, pour l’instant mal expliqué et qui justifie de poursuivre la surveillance à long terme des enfants nés après transferts d’embryons congelés. |

| Summary, etc. | Cryopreservation has become an essential tool in Assisted Reproductive Technologies and management of infertile couples. Embryo freezing in IVF is becoming more common, with a crescent percentage of children born from frozen embryos. The question of the possible impact of freezing/thawing processes on the offspring's health arises, especially as freezing techniques have evolved with the introduction of vitrification. While the available data are generally reassuring, even highlighting better perinatal outcomes for the risks of hypotrophy and prematurity, they also point out an over-risk of fetal macrosomia, for the moment poorly explained and which justifies to further evaluate long-term surveillance of children born after frozen embryo transfers. |
