| Summary, etc. | Cet article revient sur la place du corps lors de l’internement psychiatrique en contexte colonial. En adoptant une approche micro-historique à travers l’étude de quatre « cas » internés entre 1921 et 1936 au sein de l’asile d’Anjanamasina, seule institution psychiatrique de Madagascar et comptant parmi les plus importantes de l’empire colonial français, nous montrons que le corps tel que saisi par le regard psychiatrique n’est pas seulement le support d’une essentialisation, mais un espace d’expression où se dévoilent des modes de sensibilité bouleversés, constituant autant de traces des transformations du rapport à soi en situation coloniale malgache. |

| Summary, etc. | This article examines the place of the body in psychiatric internment in a colonial context. By adopting a micro-historical approach through the study of four “cases” interned between 1921 and 1936 at the Anjanamasina asylum, the only psychiatric institution in Madagascar and one of the most important in the French colonial empire, we show that the body, as captured by the psychiatric gaze, is not only a medium of essentialization, but also a space of expression in which modes of sensitivity are revealed, constituting traces of the transformations in the relationship to the self in the Malagasy colonial situation. |
