| Summary, etc. | Cet article présente une étude des cadences chez Hugo Wolf (1860-1903) basée sur le recueil des 53 Gedichte von Eduard Mörike pour voix et piano (1888). L’analyse harmonique croisée avec l’étude de la métrique poétique montre que l’étirement dans le temps des zones cadentielles entre en conflit d’une part avec la clôture formelle des strophes, d’autre part avec les éléments isolés du vers. En ce sens, la cadence constitue un point de tension entre texte et musique. |

| Summary, etc. | This article examines the cadences used by Hugo Wolf (1860-1903) in his 53 Gedichte von Eduard Mörike (“Poems by Eduard Mörike”) for voice and piano (1888). Though intensification is a recurring feature in Wolf’s use of cadences, it seems that his approach to temporal prolongation conflicts not only with the formal closure of the stanzas but also with isolated elements of the poetic verse. Thus, the cadences used by Wolf create a tension between text and music. |
